Privacy Policy
Overbloom · Last updated 9 July 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Overbloom ("the Game", "we", "us") handles information when you play it on iOS or Android.
In short: I don't sell your personal data, and I don't operate accounts, servers, or analytics that collect it. The Game runs on your device, and your progress stays there. However, the Game shows ads through Google AdMob and offers optional in-app purchases through the app stores, and those third-party services may collect data as described below.
Who is responsible for your data
Overbloom is an independent game developed and published by Kieran Crown. For any privacy questions or requests, contact kieran.crown@gmail.com.
Information the Game stores on your device
To make the Game work, we save a small amount of data locally on your device, such as your high scores and progress, your settings, and the cosmetics and purchases you own. This data stays on your device (and, where you enable it, your platform's own device backup). We do not transmit it to any server we operate, and it is not linked to your identity.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Game displays ads — including occasional full-screen ads between runs and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch — served by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google. To deliver and measure these ads, Google and its ad partners may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and your interactions with ads.
Depending on your consent and settings, ads may be personalized (based on this information) or non-personalized. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller under its own policies. To learn how Google uses this data, see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent and your choices
Where required — for example in the UK, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland — the Game presents a Google-certified consent prompt before serving personalized ads, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time within the Game's settings.
On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks for your permission before the Game uses your device's advertising identifier for tracking; if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. You can also limit ad tracking at any time in your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads.
In-app purchases
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (such as gem packs and a one-time option to remove ads). These transactions are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details; the stores may share limited, aggregated purchase information with us so we can deliver what you bought and provide support. Your use of the stores is governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
Children's privacy
Overbloom is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are configured to be treated appropriately, but if you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it.
Data retention
Because gameplay data lives on your device, it is removed when you delete the Game (subject to any device backups you have enabled). Data handled by Google AdMob and the app stores is retained according to their own policies.
International users
The third-party services used by the Game — Google, Apple — may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those transfers are governed by the relevant provider's safeguards and privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Game after a change means you accept the updated policy.
